Hyperhidrosis
Many people suffer from excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), especially from the underarms. This can not only be embarrassing, but may stain clothing and lead to skin rashes. When antiperspirants don't work well enough, there are a number of options.
In research Dr Coleman was part of, Botox was shown to be effective in reducing sweating for an average of 8 months. Dr Coleman has also published good results using liposuction to remove sweat glands from the underarms to reduce sweating. More recently Drs. William and Patrick Coleman were researchers on the clinical trials for miraDry, a new technology using microwave energy to destroy sweat glands. This procedure was shown to be very effective in reducing underarm sweating.
